The boys' cross country team captured their first sectional title following the 2023 tournament realignment and will advance to the Regional round next Saturday at New Prairie. The Dogs won with a score of 42, outpacing Lake Central (67) and Lowell (75). Hanover Central and Illiana Christian both finished with 105, rounding out the field—all five schools move on to regionals. The Dogs placed all five scoring runners in the Top 14, each earning All-Sectional Honors: • Senior Jake Metzger led the way as Sectional Runner-Up, finishing in 15:45, a new personal best. • Junior Jackson Zona followed in 7th place with a time of 16:31. • Junior Dylan Ryder earned 8th place with a personal best time of 16:37. • Senior Evan Kearns took 11th place in 16:52. • Sophomore Kuba Nurek closed out the scoring in 14th place, finishing in 17:01. *A special shout-out to the alums, teammates, and parents of runners who weren’t competing today, who showed up today to cheer on the guys!
